A genuine U.S. Vietnam War era RT-841 AN/PRC-77 (aka prick-77) portable transceiver. The RT-841 AN/PRC-77 was a military portable VHF transceiver, also known as a backpack radio, introduced by the US Army in 1968 as the successor to the AN/PRC-25. The radio was used heavily during the Vietnam War, and differs from its predecessor in that its RF power amplifier stage (PA) is fully solid state, whereas the PA of the PRC-25 was made with thermionic valves. Was made by Electrospace Corp USA with a 1968 dated contract number, has a serial number of: 86459 A. Internally appears complete and is nice and clean inside. External connectors have their original covers, all the dials and switches appear to operate freely, and frequency dials move the frequency numbers correctly.
