An original U.S. Mine Safety Appliances (MSA) M20 breathing apparatus including original transit/storage case. These units were issued to the U.S. Navy for firefighting and operating in a hazardous environment. This M20 system allows the user to have an hour of air via a self-contained canister that attaches underneath. The facemask has two hoses that connect to the main system. The M20 retains the manufacture plates that show a 1988 contract date and a 1989 manufacture date. The aluminum cage of the M20 has some buckling one side, being aluminum it could be manipulated back into shape, displays fine as is. On the top is a 60 minute alarm that rings when the 60 minutes are used to allow the wearer to change canisters. Face mask has a tear at the bottom as pictured. The original green storage case displays very well and measures: 23" x 10" x 16", case is missing one of the retention clamps on the latch, the other side’s latch works fine in keeping the case closed, case has a carry handle to top, retains the majority of the white lettering to front, shows a 1975 contract date on the case. A rare piece of kit to find in the UK.
