The HGU-25 helmet was developed specifically for the flight decks of all US aircraft carriers, this unique bump helmet provides impact protection while using hearing protectors or noise-attenuating headsets in one of the most hostile environments on earth. The HGU-25 Flight Deck Helmet has these components: A suspension liner, a front and a back shell assembly, energy-absorbing impact pads & Aural sound protector. This genuine U.S. helmet is in good issued condition and is complete with sound protectors and chin strap. Was made by Tennier Industries USA and has a DLA (Defense Logistics Agency) contract number is dated 1983, size 7¼. On the back of the helmet is a very interesting sticker for the French aircraft carrier the Foch, along with the original connection socket being removed with a different type of connector fitted. Good chance this was used abord the Foch as its not unusual for other Allied countries to use U.S. equipment. The red colour of the shell typically indicates Ordnance (Weapons Handling).
