The M1943 tool was originally created during WW2 and has a wooden shaft that can be fixed in three different positions, it can be folded for storage in the carrier, placed at 90 degrees for use as a pick or fixed in the normal position to be used as a shovel, its Korean made for the U.S. during the Korean War with 'Made in Korea' makers mark to back. The genuine U.S. OD7 M1956 carrier features a bayonet hanger, snap fastener and reinforced with eight rivets that can accommodate either the M1943 or M1951 entrenching tool, its DA (Defense Agency) contract marked and dated 1960.
