A genuine U.S. M1 helmet made during World War 2 by McCord with a front seam, the heat stamp number is present and appears to read 117C that dates the helmets manufacture to 1942. The original WW2 corked paint has been field overpainted with a shade used by the U.S. in the 1950's to early 1960's, along with a hand painted decal for the 3rd Infantry Division. Comes with an original U.S. chin strap with anchor manufacture mark. The genuine U.S. P55 liner is in excellent condition and was made by Firestone, and has a genuine U.S. sweatband with DSA (Defense Supply Agency) contract number that dates it to 1965, and has genuine U.S. nape strap that is DSA contract marked and dated 1967. Includes an original U.S. leather chin strap that has a manufactures anchor mark to clasp. A very nice M1 helmet that was originally made for WW2 and was reissued in the 50's/60's to the 3rd Infantry Division.
