A genuine Russian GSH-6A high altitude pressure flying helmet. First introduced in the 1960's these were worn for flights in the Su-15, MiG-21, MiG-23 and MiG-25 fighter/interceptor airplanes. Designed to completely isolate the pilots head from the external hostile environment of flying extreme high altitudes. This helmet features a sprung loaded hinged electrically heated visor that seals to the aluminium and glass fiber shell of the helmet, includes the original pull toggle. Complete with the original tinted anti-glare visor that retracts via a small lever in front of the oxygen regulator. Helmet is in good issued condition, the neck ring rubber seal has perished around the front half as pictured, and is missing the black oxygen regulator cap that connects the hose. Retains the original blue interior liner padding and the makers label. An impressive display piece that resembles the appearance of a space helmet.
