An excellent example of a genuine World War 2 U.S. M1 helmet, liner and scarce USMC Cover. This M1 steel pot was made by McCord in April 1945 and is a rear seam with swivel bales, it has a heat stamp number of: 1256C, original khaki/OD3 canvas chin strap with original blackened brass metalwork, original corked paint. The liner is in excellent condition and was made by MSA (Mine Safety Appliances), retains its original WW2 khaki/OD3 webbing, the original A washers are all in excellent condition, comes with a genuine U.S. WW2 era khaki/OD3 nape strap with ink markings, and has an original U.S. WW2 khaki/OD3 sweatband with ink manufacture markings, has an original U.S. late/post WW2 leather chin strap with black oxide steel clasp made by United Carr and is maker marked DOT. Comes with an original USMC frog skin cover that was made by the Blue Anchor Overall Co and is dated 1953, cover is displayed on the helmet showing the five colour green dominant ‘jungle’ camouflage, other side of the cover has the three colour ‘beach’ camouflage with the USMC logo still visible. Cover has wear around the usual areas of the helmet brim and chinstrap holes, one of the foliage slits has some small tearing (as pictured), retains the original colours on both sides. A fantastic example complete World War 2 M1 helmet, with scarce frog skin cover.
