A genuine U.S. APH-5 flight helmet. First introduced into service in the late 1950's these helmets continued to be used throughout the 1960's. This model helmet was used in the Vietnam War by helicopter pilots. It's in an issued and used worn condition, visor knob is missing, tinted visor can still be retracted down and placed back up, the M-33 microphone is missing a section at the end, and the adjustable headphone ear cups have started to perish, and is missing a couple of the interior padded sections. Visor knob and microphone can be replaced with parts still available in the U.S., still displays nicely as is. Retains the original adjustable headphone string, retains the original connection cord and socket, and retains the adjustable chin strap.
