An excellent unissued example of a genuine U.S. Vietnam War era heavy duty poncho made from plastic coated nylon. These ponchos were used as a rain cape, and could also be used as a blanket, sleeping bag cover and when using two of them together a shelter. A liner could also be used with the poncho to create a makeshift sleeping bag. This poncho is in excellent condition, complete with snap fasteners, waist draw-cord and head draw-cord. Retains the original manufactures ink stamp markings, it has a DSA (Defense Supply Agency) contract number and is dated August 1965, made by Electro Plastic Fabrics Inc USA.
