An excellent example of a genuine complete Vietnam War era U.S. M1 helmet. This front seam M1 steel pot was manufactured by McCord during World War 2 and many helmets like this were re-issued for the Korean War & the Vietnam War, it has a heat stamp number of 1105B indicating it was originally made in late 1944, and has anchor marks to the chin strap metalwork with green over-paint only seen on early helmets. The genuine U.S. P55 liner was made by Westinghouse Electric Company in the 1950's/early 60's and is in excellent condition, it has a genuine U.S. sweatband with vivid ink DSA (Defense Supply Agency) contract markings made in 1964, genuine U.S. nape strap, the genuine U.S. vintage leather chin strap has early anchor & DOT manufacturer marks. The genuine U.S. Mitchell cover retains its colours and is a rarer twill variant, it has a contract number of 8189 indicating it was made in early 1965. A very nice complete early mid sixties example M1 helmet.
