The Vietnam service medal was awarded to recognize service during the Vietnam War by all members of the United States Armed Forces provided they meet the award requirements, serving in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and/or Thailand from 1965 to 1973 for 30 consecutive or 60 nonconsecutive days it was issued between the dates of 1965 until 1975.
