An excellent example of a genuine World War 2 U.S. M1 helmet made by McCord, this M1 helmet has a front seam & fixed bales with a heat stamp number of 302B indicating it was originally made in 1942, has original factory fitted OD3 khaki chin straps with raised bar clasp, original corked paint. The helmet has hand painted details to the front and back, the front has an painted image of the shield emblem of the U.S. Fifth Air Force that was setup in 1941 and is still in operation today (Pacific Air Force), on the back is the rank & name 'SGT Finnly' in white and black text, because we have no province on the hand painted details we are selling and pricing the helmet as it is, a genuine World War 2 helmet & liner in excellent condition. The liner was made by the Firestone Tire Co with original WW2 OD3 khaki suspension webbing, the sweatband is genuine U.S. WW2 OD-3 khaki and has ink manufacturer markings, and the nape is again genuine U.S. WW2 OD3 khaki with ink markings. The leather shin strap is genuine U.S. WW2 era with green painted metalwork. A very nice and complete fixed bale front seam helmet.
