A genuine U.S. Vietnam War era M1943 entrenching tool & M1956 carrier. The M1943 tool was created during WW2 and has a wooden shaft that can be fixed in three different positions, it can be folded for storage in the carrier, placed at 90 degrees for use as a pick or fixed in the normal position to be used as a shovel and is U.S. marked, its dated 1944 and made by AMES. The genuine U.S. OD7 M1943 carrier features a Tiger Stripe camouflage that has been added by hand, fading & matching wear to the camouflage indicates this has been on there for some time, Tiger Stripe was used by the U.S. & ARVN Special Forces & USMAAG advisros, hand notation name of 'Mueller' inside the carrier, lower male end of clasp has some separation (as pictured) still fully functional, double hook hanger to back for webbing attachment.
