Genuine U.S. Army Airborne Vietnam War used short sleeve tropical jungle jacket 2nd pattern. This rare jacket was used in the Vietnam War by a U.S. Army serviceman in the Airborne 5th Special Forces. This scarce 2nd pattern jacket has been deliberately modified with two additional ammo pockets and a pen/assessor pocket to the right shoulder sleeve. Being a 2nd pattern the jacket features epaulets, two waist side adjustment tabs, pen pockets behind both upper chest cargo pockets and has a hanger loop. 2nd patterns were issued in 1965. On the chest is an early U.S. Army branch tape patch and a early combat infantry badge (CIB) patch, name tape patch appears to have been carefully removed at some point, on the left shoulder sleeve is a made-in-country 5th Special Forces Airborne patch, all the patches have shrinkage as pictured indicating they have been on this jacket for some time. Manufacture and care labels are missing.
