A genuine World War 2 U.S. Army Air Force Helmet, Flying, Intermediate, Type A-11, spec number 3189. This leather flying helmet was first introduced in 1943 and saw use throughout the war. The helmet is in very good condition for its age and the leather is soft and supple, chinstrap assembly is complete and fully functional, oxygen mask snaps are present, back adjustment strap & goggle straps present and fully function. Manufacturer label is present with a 1944 manufacture date, nice large size and was made by the Shelby Shoe Company.
