A genuine U.S. Vietnam War era presentation plaque issued to Staff sergeant (SSG, E-6) Donald McPherson, this nice sized shield shaped wooden plaque features in metal the flags of the United States and South Vietnam, underneath also in metal is the 9th infantry division insignia, a map of Vietnam and next to that a corporation shield, underneath that is the plaque message in metal that reads: Presented to SSG Donald McPherson in recognition of his advice and help to the members of the 9th infantry divisions MRE team Dong Tam Vietnam. This plaque measures: 335mm x 390mm x 17mm (13.1” x 15.3” x 0.6”) at the widest points.

Dong Tam Base Camp (also known as Dong Tam Army Airfield) was established in 1966 on the northern bank of the Mekong River, and was a garrison for the 9th Infantry Division & ARVN 7th Division.
