A genuine Zippo lighter brought back from the Vietnam War, this Zippo lighter was once owned by a serviceman of the River Division 533 (part of River Squadron 53). Like the many of genuine period correct Zippo's the engraving on the front is tight and features the manufacturers machine stamped base that shows the correct period Zippo logo and date markings along with BRADFORD PA and the trademark logo, on the base of the lighter either side of the Zippo logo four vertical lines and on the other side three vertical lines, this indicates the Zippo lighter was made in 1967, on the front is engraved 'River Division 533 Vietnam' along with an image of the famous PBR (Patrol Boat River) the small rigid-hulled patrol boat used in the Vietnam War from March 1966 until the end of 1971.

The River Division 533 was part of River Squadron 53 (RIVRON-53) that formed part of Task Force 116. From 1966 to 1972 PBR's were operated by the Navy as the principal component of Task Force 116. PBR's were used for many combat operations as well as used to ferry Special Forces units for various missions. They formed a major part of Operation Game Warden that was a joint operation conducted by the United States Navy and South Vietnamese Navy in order to deny Viet Cong access to resources in the Mekong Delta. Game Warden and its counterpart Operation Market Time are considered to be two of the most successful U.S. Naval actions during the Vietnam War.
