A stunning example of a Vietnam War era U.S. M1 helmet. This unissued M1 helmet has a heat stamp number #602 with anchor marks to the chin strap metalwork, and comes with an unissued walnut brown P64 liner that has clear DSA (Defense Supply Agency) ink markings and is dated 18th February 1964, the headband/sweatband is DSA marked and also dated 1964, the nape strap is DSA marked (DSA-1-4755) that dates it to 1964. The Mitchell cover is the rarer thicker fabric twill variant that has a contract number 8116 that dates it to early 1965, and comes supplied with a rare unissued genuine Vietnam War era elastic strap with ink markings. A very rare and complete example with really early dated unissued components.
