A World War 2 British Brodie helmet used by the National Fire Service (NFS). This MKI helmet is an early version with oval liner pad and was used by a leading/senior fireman denoted by the red band that runs round the helmet, has the Fire Force number '12' decal on the front that was based in Stevenage. The helmet was made  by Rubery Owen & Co Ltd of Leeds (RO & Co) and is dated 1939, the liner was made Briggs Motor Bodies Ltd of Dagenham (BMB) also dated 1939 is a size 7, and comes with its original chinstrap.
