An excellent example of a genuine U.S. M1 helmet, this is an early Korean War M1 that were also re-used at the start of the Vietnam War, it features a Korean War liner marked 'U.S. 53 M11' and has a DA (Defense Agency) marked headband with a 1956 dated sweatband/headband, and has a nape strap with DSA (Defense Supply Agency) marking and is dated 1967, the Mitchell cover is the slightly thicker twill variant and has a DSA contract number with a 1967 date, the helmet itself is in good shape with a few stress marks and the cotton chin strap has anchor marks to the metalwork. We have added a vintage M1 leather chin strap to complete the helmet.
