A pair of binoculars made in the 1940’s most probably by Ross of London for the British forces during World War 2, the model is Bino Prismatic No. 5 MkIV (Mk4) and are a 7 x 50 magnification, with individual eyepiece focus and central support bar and serial number: 38040, the binoculars have a green crackle-finished body and a canvas carrying strap. The binoculars are also fitted with graticules - a series of marks visible when observing that allow one to work out the sizes of distant objects. The Mark 5 was a military specification for the British Army. The optics are in excellent working order and comes with a military leather case with intact carry handle, leather carry strap and leather belt loops, the case has the broad arrow mark to the front.
